In celebration of World Rivers Day on September 27th, the Connecticut River Watershed Partnership is hosting a watershed -wide BioBlitz. The event begins on Sept 19, 2026 and ends on Sept 27, 2026. Visit your favorite area or explore a new location in the Connecticut River Watershed, and post photos of the living organisms you see. Make sure you list “Connecticut River Watershed” in the Notes section of your submission.
Living Waters Tour at Springfield Museum
Tour Watersheds from Around the World and Meet Their Live Animal Ambassadors! Living Waters serves as an introduction to ecosystems and climates from around the world. Visitors learn about different ecosystems and climates as they explore and compare different aquatic habitats from the Connecticut River watershed, North and South America, Africa, and the Pacific Ocean. Dr. Kirsten Martin, Program Director for Environmental Science at the University of Saint Joseph, has spent over a decade getting to know the Scantic River Watershed - a sub-basin of the Connecticut River - one water sample at a time. Join Dr. Martin and moderator Amber Lively for a live Zoom broadcast to explore this data, ask questions, and learn how these findings will help shape the Scantic River Watershed Basin Management Plan moving forward.
Connecticut River Museum Block Party
Join the Connecticut River Museum at our annual Block Party on September 19, 2026 for a fun, free day of activities, with food and beverage vendors and music. Children will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of educational activities centered around nature, and the whole family can compete in various lawn games.

When you drive along the seashore or walk along the beach, do you think about how much fun it would be to kayak on the ocean but don’t know how or where to begin? The Introduction to Sea Kayaking weekend is designed to help you take that first step to transition from flat water kayaking to sea kayaking in a safe, friendly, and fun environment.

Join us to remove trash from our waterways, riverbanks, and communities across the 410-mile Connecticut River watershed in NH, VT, MA, and CT. All ages welcome. Group leader registration will open on July 1st.
